FAQs

Yes, certainly. Please email us at info@softstrokessilk.com and we'll provide a price quote based on the following: specific measurements of your bedding; density (22 momme or 32 momme); whether you want to choose a colour from our colour book or you would like custom dye.
We completely understand why some of our customers request a specific colour. Silk beddings are an investment and they will be with you for a good amount of time in your life. We have a custom dye service available for 22 momme and 32 momme custom beddings. To start, please email us at info@softstrokessilk.com with the colour you have in mind (Pantone colour code preferred for precision). The custom dye fee for each colour is $200 CAD, regardless of how many pieces you order in this colour. Custom dye adds 4 weeks to the production process.
We currently only have custom hand embroidery available. Silk is very delicate and we’ve tried machine embroidery before, but there is a risk of the fabric being ripped. Hand embroidery adds an extra two weeks to your production time and is only available for custom orders. If you are interested in symbols or patterns, please message at info@softstrokessilk.com us for a quote.
Momme is the unit used to measure silk density. The denser the fabric, the higher the momme. Read our blog for more details. https://www.softstrokessilk.com/blogs/news/mommes-eh
Silk is very friendly to skin and hair, but it is also a delicate fabric. It may pile because: - Our body and hair rub against it - We washed it in regular cycle instead of delicates, used warm water instead of cold, used regular detergent instead of detergent for silk To avoid piling as much as possible, we could: - Wash the silk items properly - Reduce friction by applying body cream or wearing socks to bed We recommend removing the balls using an electric trimmer.
